Casino Marbella breaks absolute record of participation in the Spanish Poker Championship

After a two and a half year hiatus, the Spanish Poker Championship has returned to Marbella stronger than ever. Exceeding all expectations, the Main Event broke records, bringing together almost 500 players and accumulating €207,360 in prize money. This is the highest amount in recent years.
For more than a week, Casino Marbella has become a spectacular Poker Room, in which, in addition to the Main Event, several parallel tournaments have taken place simultaneously, along with their respective satellites. More than 1,000 players, including the most prestigious players on the Spanish poker scene, have chosen Casino Marbella to test their skills in the art of poker.
The satellite on Saturday 8th October kicked off the tournament. A total of 171 hopefuls competed in the different qualifiers in order to secure their place in the main tournament. In addition to the 46 qualifiers from the five live satellites, more than 150 entries were added by the organisers through PokerStars online satellites.
The Main Event kicked off its Day 1A on Thursday, October 13. With a spectacular opening, 200 players began the challenge. This was a foreshadowing of what was to come the following day. Friday, Day 1B, completed the numbers by adding 290 more participants, making a total of 490 entries.
Antonio Galiana, from Malaga, after 3 days of putting his self-control, concentration and patience into practice, managed, with an Ace and a 9 of clubs, to proclaim himself Champion of this successful stage.
This is the highest number of entries ever recorded by the CEP in Casino Marbella and shows that this circuit not only continues to offer an impeccable structure, but that every year it is renewed with attractive proposals such as the High Roller, which has undoubtedly been one of the biggest attractions of this stop. On Thursday 13th, this great tournament with an entry fee of €1,100, managed to bring together seventy-nine brave players.
This historic stop, has achieved that more than 3,500 visitors attracted by the spectacle of live poker, have enjoyed throughout the week at Casino Marbella.
